![]() I like to think the 9 divines willed sheogorath to be their champion and defeat meridia's semi-undead champion. The Champion of Cyrodil, defeated a daedric lord and turned into sheogorath (before or after becoming the champion of the cyrodillic pantheon). he cannot die due to natural causes, and is immune to any disease Nerevarine became a saint/demi-god who potentially killed 3 demi-gods, and defeated hircine in his own very realm. you either load up a save and quietly tell yourself "i'm still immersed in this world it's just a parallel universe" or whatever, or you delete and start anew.Īll the champions in TES games are supermen. T h a t _ plus the fact that the game ends when you die. That right is reserved to the very real gods of your world. What you cannot do is truly become immortal. You can still be killed, you can still be defeated, you can still be outsmarted. You, the almighty Dragonborn, are still bound to the constraints of the world you are in. Meridia is sort of an exception for this, but even still you have to find her beacon and the questline is focused around cleaning up her previous champion's mess. Instead, you will always first move through one of their conduits - a follower, a clan, a disciple, whatever - in order to even interact with them. You will never have the option of giving yourself up to them. You will -never- come into immediate contact with a daedra or aedra. So, because there was the opportunity for aedra/daedra from previous games, the writers for TESV saw an opportunity. I'm by no means a writer or author, but I can see that there are huge problems with creating a superman in a story. You are the superhuman force that is essentially terrorizing Skyrim (and daedric plains / solstheim). Hell, even if you do a pacifist run, you still have to watch things be killed in order to progress through quests. I think they force you into the daedra and aedra's paths because (1) social experiment to see if people will sell their souls for the sake of completing a questline and (2) more realistically, they want to humble the player.Īs the Dragonborn, you will be killing. ![]() Elder Scrolls Reading Club (Community Playthrough). ![]()
